Mommy-daughter days are something that I know all about! As a mother to two little girls under 10, I am constantly searching for new and fun ways to spend time with my girls. They spend a lot of time with me from day-to-day, but they get really excited when they know that we’re going to have a Mommy-daughter day. Whether you’re looking for things to do at home or out of the house, here are 7 fun and easy Mommy-daughter day ideas for you and your girls.

Mommy-Daughter Spa Day at Home

This is by far one of our top choices for Mommy-daughter days. We are always on the go, so any idea that keeps us at home but having fun is a welcome idea. Two Christmases ago we got the girls a little girl foot spa set. This fun gadget has made it super easy to host Mommy-daughter spa days at home. We usually set it up on a towel, add some Epsom salts to the water and then they get to relax. If you don’t have a foot spa for you and your girls, no worries. You can get one from the store (we got ours at Walmart), or you can create your own. Just get a bucket, add some warm water and anything else you want to add to it, and there’s your spa!

You can also add to your spa day with things like finger nail polish, face masks and massages. My girls love it when I use their favorite lotion to rub their feet. Just make sure you get them to return the favor!

Mommy-Daughter Ice Cream Dates are the Best

Nothing is sweeter than getting a scoop with someone you love every now and then. For me, ice cream is one of my favorite foods. I’m not sure that my girls feel as passionate about as ice cream as I do, but they still love a sweet treat with Mommy. Homemade ice cream shops are popping up all over the United States, so I imagine finding a place to go patron wouldn’t be hard.

Ice cream dates don’t have to be fancy. But they can be a great way to get out of the house and spend some time with your girls. Go grab a scoop, enjoy some sweetness, and spend some much-needed time together!

Take Those Girls Shopping

Come on now, we all know that most girls love shopping. What better way to spend a Mommy-daughter day than out browsing the racks and the toy aisles. My girls can be a bit expensive, so lately I’ve been taking them to kids consignment stores rather than big-box stores like Walmart and Target. For them, they’re just excited to get out of the house and do a little shopping. It’s much easier on the wallet, too.

My girls (thanks to my Mother) like to go to consignment and thrift stores to find clothes for their baby dolls. They’ve discovered that preemie sized clothing fits some of their larger dolls, and so they’ll search the racks for a new outfit for their babies.

Have a Picnic at the Park

Having a picnic at the park is one of our all-time favorite Mommy-daughter day ideas. We love to pack a lunch and lots of snacks, and then we head to our favorite park with a playground. The girls get to play while Mommy gets to hang out and watch them have fun.

I’m pretty sure I live with two little monkeys!

Every now and then they’ll ask for help with something, and so I don’t end up just sitting there all day with nothing to do. Parks are also good for trails and beautiful sceneries, so make the most of your day by exploring a little bit of everything. It’s one of the most inexpensive ideas on this list, and one of our favorites!

Have a Princess Day

If your girls are still little like mine then they would probably love a Princess Day. What’s a Princes Day you may ask? It’s a day that you spend pampering your little girl and making her feel like a princess. Often times this means that I’ll do hair and makeup for my girls. I’m not very good at doing either, but they don’t seem to notice. After their hair and makeup is done, they usually put on a fancy dress that they don’t get to wear often.

To go along with your Princess Day, you could host a tea party for your princess at home. It is so easy to make little finger sandwiches and other snacks for a quick, impromptu tea party at home. And don’t forget to invite all of her doll and stuffy friends!

Take Her Out For Lunch

Another one of our go-to Mommy-daughter day ideas is going out for lunch. Every once in a while and I’ll take the girls out for a lunch that is not fast food. With our busy schedule, it’s not often that we get to go out together and have a sit down meal. They love when they get to look at the menu and pick for themselves.

I think this is one outing that is especially important to them. When you have more than one kid, it’s not easy to get one-on-one time with each individual child. These lunches for us in the past have been a way to spend that time together. We sit and talk, we try new foods together (if they’re willing), and of course we draw on the placemats if we can. And as always, no Mommy-daughter lunch is complete without a selfie.

Have a Mommy-Daughter Sleepover

My girls get so excited when I tell them that we’re going to have a sleepover. Sometimes we have sleepovers in my room when Daddy is out of town for work. Other times, we put lots of blankets and sleeping bags in the floor, and we fall asleep in the living room watching movies. Popcorn, candy and other sweets are usually involved, too.

They got really excited about this family sleepover when we were moving.

For my girls, I think they love Mommy-daughter sleepovers the most because it’s something they get to do only a few times a year. They’re both scared of the dark and bedtime, so it provides them with an extra sense of security on those nights. And let’s not forget the snuggles…who doesn’t love snuggles?!

So Many Other Ideas

Seven ideas may seem like a lot, but there are so many other Mommy-daughter day ideas out there. I’ve listed a few others for you to look into:

  1. Visit a local tea room.
  2. Attend a local event outdoors.
  3. Take a dance class together.
  4. Go to a nail salon.
  5. Get your hair done together.
  6. Do something kind together for your community.
  7. Go shopping for flowers and plant them.
  8. Take an art class together.
  9. Visit a museum.
  10. Bake cookies together.

…and so much more! As long as you’re spending time together, making memories and having fun, that’s all that really matters. What are your favorite Mommy-daughter day outings and activities? Let me know in the comments below!
