Halloween-themed family movie night ideas are super important this time of the year. For many families, movie nights are just one of the many traditions that exist around the time of Halloween. My girls are both still under 10, so we still stick to more family-friendly movies and avoid the spookier ones. But whatever level of fright your kids can stand, you are bound to find some great ideas within this post.

If you ask me, any Halloween-themed family movie night is fun as long as it has great food, a good movie, and a comfy place to curl up. All of these movie night ideas offer all of those things, so get ready for some Halloween-themed family fun!

Topping my list of Halloween-themed family movie night ideas is the very famous, much-loved “Hocus Pocus.” Families have been watching this movie, dressing up as its characters and just overall loving it since it first came out in 1993. Because of its storyline, location and characters, it is the perfect Halloween movie for families. If you’re hosting a Hocus Pocus Halloween-themed family movie night, there are several foods and decor that you can use to set the stage for a great Halloween-filled evening.

Being totally honest…I didn’t see this for the first time until a couple of years ago when my kids watched it. It’s apparently a favorite for my generation, but I guess I missed it! Either way, this movie is perfect for a Halloween-themed family movie night.

Frankenweenie is on our family list of movies to watch this Halloween season. Honestly, I can’t say that any of us have seen it before! But from what I can tell it is a very popular movie for the Halloween season.

Just like The Addams Family, Frankenweenie has his own plush. He may be a Frankenstein dog, but he is still cute!
